Sydnie

I am really trying to get back into doing the art of photography for ME. It's so satisfying when my work doesn't feel forced and I am enjoying what I am doing. These were done on a whim, more or less. Only because I felt like it.

I have to say that I LOVE working with Syd. She's an absolute trooper that is up for anything and it makes it so much more interesting that way.

Land of Oz

Soo, I'm pretty much a month late on this post and I have a list of other blog posts that I still need to write and have in my queue, woops.

Last month Sam and I surprised Cody for his birthday by taking him on a day trip to The Land of Oz in Beech Mountain. It wasn't the easiest place to find, but after turning around on the mountain a few times and looking at maps, we found the way up. It was about a mile and a half walk up and it was so worth it.

Riverbanks Zoo & Garden

I recently took my second trip to Riverbanks Zoo & Garden, with my mom, brother, and sister. As you will see I was very fond of the bears. They were so active and playful. We spent most of the time there just watching them play.

Learning to fly

At the risk of sounding incredibly lame, I witnessed something so beautiful the other day. I have been having a hard time lately. I've felt alone, distant, and overall unhappy about 80% of the time. This day was particularly rough for whatever reason and when I came home to let the dogs out I was almost hit in the face by a little bird learning to fly. It was amazing to watch it flutter around on the lower branches and the momma bird sitting higher up the the tree chirping away. After I realized they wouldn't be going anywhere for a bit, I ran inside to get my camera to get a couple shots of him/her. It really perked up my mood.
