Vanitas

For a while now I have had a strong interest in Vanitas, Momento Mori, Curiosities and the process of up-cycling. I've always been inspired by the challenge of taking something that's not seemingly beautiful and presenting it that way. That should be obvious given my love of macro photography.

I'm personally aware that the thought of this isn't for everyone and may make some people uncomfortable, but to me there is too much beauty found in these things to not appreciate them.

To quote Auguste Rodin, “To the artist, there is never anything ugly in nature.”

Fall Colors

Yesterday was a beautiful day and I decided I had to get some photos of all the amazing Fall colors before all the leaves were on the ground.

Adam and Kristy

I had the pleasure of taking pictures of a friends wedding this week. It's the first wedding I've done and now that I've done so, I know more of the dos and don'ts. Even if I had some things I would have done differently with my shooting, like not forgotten my 50mm...it was a really lovely ceremony.

And, you can see more from the wedding here.

Allyson

I've been wanting to do more portraits lately because, well..I honestly can't say that I like them very much. It's something I feel like I need to conquer. I need to get comfortable with people and with directing them to do what I want for the photos. I love my little sister to death, but a kid was not a good place to start with this. She got to see me break down a little, which I hated, but after she was much more cooperative.

Autumn Jubilee

On October 6th and 7th I got an opportunity to take part in something I never thought I would, a craft fair! Sam was nice enough to ask me to share and help out with her booth at the 33rd annual Autumn Jubilee at Dan Nicholas park.

She most definitely had the most creative booth at the park and even though the rain on Sunday attempted to destroy the tent, everything turned out great.
